Meet Our Team

Stay on track with leading industry professionals

We’ve been in the passenger rail business for quite some time, with a combined 25+ years of experience in the industry. Our skillset is wide-ranging. Our team is comfortable navigating the complexities of Amtrak-approved charters, we’ve operated one-of-a-kind special trains including Station to Station, and we’ve taken on a full schedule of Class 1 steam excursions. Our team has extensive tourist and intercity passenger rail experience.

Adam Auxier - CEO

Adam has been at the head of some truly epic train trips. After leaving behind a career in the children’s toy industry, he has managed and operated private rail car trips for Trains Magazine, NARP, Millennial Trains Project, Uncommon Journeys and many other customers across thousands of miles.

As Train Producer for Station to Station, Adam oversaw the logistics of a magical art installation on rails, with music, performances at station stops, as part of a 4500 mile Amtrak special train. Adam spent three years managing the operation of the N&W 611 excursion program for the Virginia Museum of Transportation, with a 22 car consist. He has been featured in WIRED, The LA Times, Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine, Chicago Tribune and the Washington Post. For a side-hobby, he has written two feature articles for Trains Magazine on Brazil’s Vale Mining Railroad and Peru’s railroad system.

Scott Jarrett - General Manager

Scott is an accomplished railroader with over a decade of experience. Starting his career with Cincinnati Railway in 2010, Scott went on to work for the Chicago, Ft Wayne & Eastern Railroad, the Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey Circus, and later Amtrak before joining Railexco.

Scott is a qualified engineer, conductor, air brake technician, and track inspector.

Between 2018-2021 Scott served as the Chief Mechanical Officer of the Cincinnati Railway Company and the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad where he managed a fleet of over 40 pieces of equipment. He has experience in tourist railroad event planning, switching operations, passenger train emergency preparedness, teambuilding, regulatory compliance, passenger railcar maintenance, and new hire training.

2024 Holiday Season

Railexco is proud to lease passenger railcars to St. Louis Union Station for their annual POLAR EXPRESS™ event. An important St. Louis holiday tradition brings joy to families every year.  THE POLAR EXPRESS™ train ride returns to St. Louis Union Station for the 2023 holiday season.

This year the beautifully decorated trains take you on a journey to the North Pole as you interact with the Polar Express characters, Santa Claus and his elves. THE POLAR EXPRESS™ is the magical story of a boy's search for the real meaning of Christmas, based on the beloved children's book.

Begin your journey at St. Louis Union Station Train Park, where you will meet the Conductor inviting you to board THE POLAR EXPRESS™ train ride.  Set to The Polar Express motion picture soundtrack, this unique holiday experience transports passengers into the magic of the beloved holiday classic. Families are encouraged to wear their holiday pajamas for the experience.

 

Leased Equipment - The North Shore Scenic Railroad

Summer 2024

All aboard for train excursions on the North Shore Scenic Railroad. Railexco is leasing passenger railcars to the North Shore Scenic Railroad for the busy summer season. Come out and ride in one of Railexco’s Budd built coaches, domes, or lounges. The Silver Palace, Lake Pepin, and Fox River Valley will be on lease until Autumn 2024.

History comes alive on the Lakefront line during the summer and autumn seasons.  Several trains a day depart the historic Duluth Union Depot for a trip through downtown Duluth, Canal Park, along the shore of Lake Superior and deep into the majestic north woods. Fully narrated tours tell the history of Duluth, the harbor, and the stories of the railroads that built northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.
